Message I spent 99% of time in prep. Being a complete novice, equipped with a 1.5mm $14 HF gun, and a Makita ~5CFM 4.2 gallon compressor, I'd say the results are better than what I imagined. Then again, everyone swears by SPI.

All I had working was my ancient Sony T7, so the quality of the pics doesn't really do it justice. There were a few spots that the spray wasn't as smooth, and the camera greatly exaggerates it, like under the upper power steering reservoir bracket. No worries...I'm going to be putting down two coats of KH3 in a few days.

Oh, and for all of those wondering: the HF $14 gun atomized the paint extremely well...I mean, very fine mist, very smooth, no splattering or runs. Plus, my 5 CFM gun could keep up for a 40 second blast maintaining the 50PSI at the gun. You don't need to run it non-stop from start to end. I think you just have to pick your spots and start spraying and then stop where it makes sense.
